FINISHES

Most finish materials are chemical-intensive in their make-up and manufacturing processes. The proliferation of chemicals in our daily lives is astounding. We can avoid exposing ourselves and our families to many harmful toxins by carefully selecting the finishes we use in and around our buildings. In addition to the high levels of chemical compounds used in manufacturing finish materials, there is abundant use of non-renewable resources in the manufacturing of such materials. We need to move away from our dependence on resources that are not renewable. They are quickly running out.
